Call for Papers, Reviews and Photographs

Volume 5 Number 1 & 2

Black Theatre Network, a national organization of theatre scholars and practitioners, is pleased to announce its call for papers for the next edition of its online scholarly peer reviewed journal, Continuum: The Journal of African Diaspora Drama, Theatre and Performance.

Continuum links the past, present and future of scholarly inquiry into the history, theory and criticism that serves theatre and performance.  Our inaugural issue launched in June 2014.

Continuum publishes two issues per year. The anticipated publication for the next issue (5.1) is July, 2018.

Submissions - Issues 5.1 and 5.2

Our next issue (5.1) is a special issue focused on the works of playwright, Lydia Diamond entitled "Staging Lydia: Directing, Dramaturgy and Design in the Plays of Lydia Diamond." We welcome articles that examine and analyze Diamond's work from any of these perspectives.

For the second annual issue (5.2), we welcome submissions of articles on any aspect of  theory, history, or criticism represented in Black theatre, drama or performance.  All submissions receive two levels of peer review. Author guidelines can be found by clicking here.
